Privacy Policy

LAST UPDATED · April 22, 2026

This policy explains what data WordWedge collects, how it's used, and what choices you have. We keep this short and plain because there isn't much to say — the site is a client-side tool and we don't run any account system.

The short version: Your games and preferences are stored only in your own browser. We don't have accounts, servers handling your data, or analytics that identify you. Third-party advertising may set cookies — you can read about those below and opt out if you prefer.

Who runs this site

WordWedge is an independent project. It is not affiliated with Hasbro, Mattel, or any official Scrabble organisation. You can reach us at contact@wordwedge.eu.

What we store on your device

The tools on this site use your browser's local storage — a small per-browser database that's separate from cookies — to remember things between visits so you don't lose your progress when you close the tab. Specifically we save:

This data never leaves your device. We cannot read it. Clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes all of it.

What we don't collect

Cookies from advertising partners

To keep WordWedge free, we display ads provided by Google AdSense. AdSense and its partners may set cookies in your browser to serve relevant ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. These cookies are controlled by Google, not by us.

You can learn about and manage these cookies here:

If you're visiting from the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, Google presents a consent form before using cookies for personalised advertising, per Google's EU user consent policy.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare automatically logs basic request data (IP address, timestamp, user-agent, referrer) for security and abuse-prevention purposes. These logs are kept by Cloudflare, not by us, and are subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy. The domain wordwedge.eu is registered with GoDaddy and subject to GoDaddy's privacy policy.

Your rights

Because we don't store personal data on our servers, there's typically nothing for us to delete on request. For data stored locally in your browser:

For advertising cookies set by Google, use the opt-out links in the section above.

If you're in the EU/UK/Switzerland, you have additional rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, objection). Because we don't hold personal data about you, most of these rights don't apply in practice, but you can contact us at contact@wordwedge.eu with any questions.

Children

WordWedge is a word-game utility suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13. If you're a parent or guardian and have concerns, contact us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes that affect you will be called out on the home page as well.
